You can rest assured that most of us will be having fun, because Bert, our head chef and wild man in residence, has gotten stuck with KP duty again. After spending all day concocting our delicious sauces, dressings, and condiments in a hot kettle, nobody here feels much like spending another hour washing the kitchen, so we rotate clean-up responsibilities amongst ourselves. We have a long-standing tradition, though, that allows us to deviate from the norm (!) from time to time by popular consent. If everyone agrees, we draw straws, the result of which is that one person gets stuck with daily clean-up for a whole month, and the rest of us get a free ride. Now we know that the lottery isn't rigged, because a different person is in charge every time, but the long and the short of it is that no one other than Bert has ever lost the lottery.
